The Savannah Oktoberfest: Germany, Savannah-Style

What You’ll Experience

For over 36 years, the Savannah Oktoberfest has brought German culture to the Southeastern U.S. At the event, there will be a beer garden featuring suds from around the globe, authentic German cuisine, and, most importantly, a wiener dog race! Look out for other Oktoberfest staples like bratwurst-tasting stations, arts and crafts vendors, live entertainment, and games. Find all of the fun along Historic River Street—and enjoy the stunning waterfront views while you’re at it!

Admission Info

The festival takes place on the first weekend of October (Friday through Sunday). The best part? All of the attractions are free to attend! You will, however, want to prepare in advance for crowds and steep cobblestone streets. If you’re driving over from Old Town Bluffton Inn, we recommend using a ride-hailing service like Uber to get to and from the event (especially if you plan on drinking).

Other Fun Things to Do This Fall

This Oktoberfest isn’t the only fun way to spend a fall getaway in the Lowcountry. Here are some of our other favorite autumn happenings in the area:
