What You Need to Know About the Palmetto Bluff Marathon
About the Marathon
Located in its namesake Lowcountry community, the Palmetto Bluff Marathon consists of a half-marathon and 10K race. All of these routes begin in the heart of Wilson Village and meander along a course shaded by ancient oaks. You’ll run past the sprawling May River, near barrier islands, and through beautiful stretches of maritime forest. This is one of the Lowcountry’s most popular races!
The best part about the Palmetto Bluff Marathon? It’s for a great cause! All race proceeds benefit the Palmetto Bluff Conservancy, a 501(c) non-profit that aims to preserve the natural and historic beauty of the Bluff. It’s a run that’s good for your health and conscience!
What to Know Before You Attend
For the first 750 registrants, a spot in the race and a t-shirt are guaranteed. Don’t worry if you don’t finish in the top three—every finishing participant receives a medal, the perfect keepsake! Be sure to mark your calendar for Sunday, March 10, 2019.
The Awards and After Party
After the race, the top competitors will each receive a significant prize provided by the Palmetto Bluff community. Even for those who don’t rank in the top three positions, finishing the race is incredibly rewarding (for more reasons than the medal). After completing an exhausting race, relax and unwind at the after party! Celebrate with live music, a free beer from River Dog Brewing Company, and free barbecue from Palmetto Bluff’s food truck!
