The South Carolina Lowcountry is an incredible place to visit in the fall! In November, hints of the season begin to creep in. The air is cool, spirits are high, and the sun is still out! These are perfect conditions for outdoor recreation. That’s why you need to come and attend the Hilton Head Bridge Run! Below, we listed everything you need to know about this fun Lowcountry tradition. For more local insight, be sure to access our complimentary Vacation Guide!
All About the Hilton Head Bridge Run
The Hilton Head Bridge Run is one of the best fall things to do around Bluffton! This 10K, 5K, and “Health Walk” starts and finishes at Crossing Park on Hilton Head Island (at 6 Haig Point Court). If you participate in this 1-mile road race, you’ll get to enjoy panoramic views of sparkling Broad Creek over the Cross Island Expressway (and, of course, the thrill of jogging in the crisp fall air). The best part about the race? Everyone is welcome—you don’t need to be a fitness fanatic to attend. Did you know that the race has hosted over 12,000 runners and raised over $47,000 for local charities?
Tickets and Registration
Early registration for the 5K portion of the race costs $30 per person and late registration (after 11/4) costs $40 per person. The same rules apply for 10K registration, but the tickets cost $10 more. The event features all standard race divisions, and participants receive a colorful T-shirt. After the race, you’ll enjoy refreshments, music, door prizes, and more!
When Does the Race Take Place?
Rise and shine! The road race takes place bright and early at 8 a.m. on November 9 this year. If you’re participating in the race or even just watching, we recommend getting an even earlier start to beat the crowds! We also recommend bringing all of the essentials: A collapsible chair, hat, and sunscreen. The South Carolina sun can be formidable even in November!
