Where To Find the Best Seafood Restaurants in Savannah
The Vault Kitchen + Market
This warehouse-style restaurant caters a unique blend of industrial atmosphere with modern farmhouse flare. The expertly crafted menu options offer a range of Asian-infused seafood selections. The Vault’s bar area peers in on the open kitchen, allowing patrons to watch their meals as they’re created. We recommend diving into the small plates with a cilantro mojito in hand.
Did we mention that the restaurant’s building served as a bank in The Starland District for over 50 years? It still holds the old safe, hence the name, to pay ode to its rich history.
Vic’s on the River
Vic’s on the River is straight out of a novel. Guests enjoy watching the ships roll in through the skinny bay doors while entranced by the nostalgic sounds of the pianist. Chef Kerry entertains every palate with award-winning crawfish beignets and giant portions of lump crab cake.
Pearl’s Saltwater Grille
There’s nothing quite like snapping crab legs while overlooking the marshland. The floor-to-ceiling windows take you out of the hustle and bustle of Savannah’s city streets and immerse you in complete serenity. This local favorite isn’t stuffy or pretentious; they simply provide quality seafood and keep your wine glass full. Pearl’s Saltwater Grille specializes in Southern staples like creole crab cakes, but they don’t lack in five-star options such as parmesan crusted grouper and crab stuffed flounder. And, never underestimate the power of small, fried dough; Pearl’s hushpuppies are the best in town.
Savannah Seafood Shack
What’s the secret to the perfect Lowcountry boil? Take a trip to Savannah Seafood Shack and find out. In case you’re not familiar, a flawless Lowcountry boil consists of a savory blend of fresh shrimp, juicy, all-beef sausage, corn on the cob, hunks of red potatoes, and a heaping portion of Cajun seasoning. Order by the tray, plop it in the middle of the table, and the Savannah Seafood Shack will have you feeling like family quicker than you can say “pass the hot sauce”.
Chive Seabar & Lounge
Chive Seabar & Lounge is the ideal spot for a night on the town. It’s optimal setting in the Historic District provides proximity to all of the local nightlife. The dining area is a blend of modern design and intimate feel creating an impressive date night ambiance. Despite Chive’s lavish interior, you will not leave hungry. Make sure to leave room for one of their chocolate mousse Tuxedo Bomb Cakes!
Like every good Southern building, if the walls could talk, they would have quite a story to tell. The two-story warehouse was originally constructed in 1902. It served as home to Savannah’s Hebrew Congregation before being sold to the Belford family and used for Belford Company Wholesalers. The family crest still adorns the side of the building, paying homage to its century-long past.
This iconic favorite has been in City Market for 23 years. It boasts a reputation for fine outdoor dining, fresh seafood classics, and decadent desserts. While you’re strolling down the cobblestone on horse and carriage, stop off at Belford’s. You won’t regret it.
